Hello, my name’s Michael John Smith,
and it all begins here you’ll see!

With Billy, John and Emma,
we’ll learn the wonders of the
world starting with A to Z.

Well A is for APPLES.
they’re delicious and good
for you and me.

You and I, we might have a BALL
and that begins with B.

C might be for CAT,
they’re soft and cuddly.

D, that’s a nice letter,
DOG begins with D.

If I had a dog, it would go
Bow Wow, and go
everywhere with me.

It would also run and
play with me.

E is for EGG, from where
the baby chicks come,

After an old mother hen
sets on them some.

F is for the FARM
where the chickens are.

Have you been there,
if it’s not too far?

G is for GUM, the bubbles big,
shiny and pink.

My friends, Jules and Verne
will share, that’s what I think!

H is for HAT,
that I wear in the sun.

When I go outside to play,
it’s so much fun.
 
I is for something that we
love to eat,

ICE CREAM
its flavors are so sweet.

J is for JELLY,
that is really sweet too.

Sometimes, when I eat mine,
I drop it on my shoe.

K is for KITE,
high up in the sky.

Whenever the wind blows,
it flies really high.

L is for LOVE, that Mike
has for his family.

Nothing is better than the love Paw Paw and Maw Maw
give for free.

M is for MOON,
at night when it’s gloomy,

but I’m not afraid because
Paw Paw and Maw Maw have a
bed that is roomy.

N is for NIGHTTIME,
when it’s time to rest.

Paw Paw and Maw Maw are really
the best.

With hugs and kisses,
they send me to sleep.

To dream sweet dreams
of my life so sweet.

O is for OCTOPUS.

Q, now that’s another matter,
starts the word QUACK.

That’s how a duck sounds,
from the front … or the back.

R is for RAINBOW,
such a beautiful sight.

Isn’t it wonderful how rain
changes the light?

S is for STREET,
I live on one too.

Mike lives on 123 Jones Avenue.
How about you?

T is for TREE.
Some are straight and tall,

And then there are some,
that are really quite small.

U is for UMBRELLAS.
when a storm draws near,

they’ll keep you dry,
until the clouds begin to clear.

VOLCANO, that starts with a V.
Lava from VOLCANOES,

that’s what made the islands
of Hawaii.

W is for WORLD,
and you can probably see,

a lot about the wonders of the
world, this book has taught
you and me

X is for X-RAY,
a picture that lets you see inside.

If you could see inside
Of Mike,

You would see lots of love,
that he does not hide.

Y starts some mighty fine words,
Like YARDSTICK, YELLOW
and YO-YO.

There’s only one letter left
For us to learn,
and then we can go-go.

Well, we’re to the end,
And the letter is Z,
For ZIPPER, ZEBRA and ZOO.
