"This Is My Birthday" was created especially for Robert White at the age of 5 Happy Birthday Ron Dec, 2008 It was going to be a beautiful day for Robert White. "Today is my day!" he thought. Today was Bobby's birthday and already he was thinking about the wonderful presents he was going to receive and the delicious cake he would eat. He dressed quickly in his favorite pants, shirt and sneakers. Bobby wanted to make sure that he didn't miss one moment of fun for his birthday. "I know," he thought. "When I walk into the kitchen, Craig and Donald will probably jump up and yell, 'Surprise!" Craig and Donald were always there for Bobby's birthday. Bobby walked into the kitchen, but no one was there. "That's odd." he whispered. While he was in the kitchen, Bobby decided to look around for his birthday cake, because there would certainly be a birthday cake in the kitchen today. He looked in all of the cabinets. He looked in the refrigerator, but found no cake. Next he tried the pantry. All he could find in the pantry were bread, crackers, cans of soup, beans, beets, and peas. He did find two chocolate cupcakes, but surely more than two people had been invited to his birthday party. "That is, if there is going to be a party?" he thought. Bobby felt glum. "Where is everybody?" he shouted, as he walked into the living room. He listened for a moment but no one answered. "Is it possible that everyone could have forgotten my birthday?" worried Bobby. He thought for a moment and then decided to look outside for any signs of aunts, uncles, presents, cake, or a birthday surprise of any kind. Bobby stood on the front porch and looked for Craig and Donald's car, but it was no where to be found. As he stood looking around, the neighbor's cat walked up and sat down beside him. Bobby gently stroked the cat's head and asked, "Did you know that today is my birthday?" The cat rubbed against Bobby's legs and then trotted off down the sidewalk. The mailman walked up. "Hello," he said, handing the mail to Bobby. Bobby set the mail on the step next to him and began to dream about the birthday party he had last year. There were balloons, games, presents and lots of cake and ice cream at that party. "There were also birthday cards!" Bobby shouted to no one in particular. He started thumbing through the mail looking for something addressed to Robert White. There it was, an envelope with Bobby's name and address. He opened it quickly. There was a card inside and it read, "Come To The Kitchen." How odd. Was this a mystery? Why would someone write "Come To The Kitchen" on a card and send it to Bobby? Whose kitchen was he supposed to go to -- his kitchen or somebody else's kitchen? He had just searched in his own kitchen for birthday surprises and had found nothing. But then, maybe this card had nothing to do with his birthday. Maybe it had something to do with some kind of special mystery that only he could figure out. Bobby didn't want to wait any longer. He ran into the living room and dashed toward the kitchen. Right before he got to the kitchen door, he stopped and listened for a moment. No, he couldn't hear a sound. Bobby took a deep breath and walked into the kitchen with his eyes closed. When he opened them he couldn't believe what he saw. Sitting in the middle of the kitchen table was the biggest birthday cake Bobby had ever seen. Sitting around the table was everyone he had hoped would be there to celebrate his birthday -- Craig, Donald and all of Bobby's friends and relatives. Even the cat from next door was there. The cat walked over to him and rubbed his chin against Bobby's legs as if to say "Happy Birthday, Robert White!" THE END Free Birthday Chronicle with every personalized book.
