I discovered Apricot Press books at a convenience store in the middle of nowhere while driving through Southern New Mexico and in the gift shop while staying at a Holiday Inn in Salt Lake City, Utah. You probably won't find them in the Midwest or on the East Coast.

Apricot Press was started in 1993 by a school teacher and his wife while they were living in Washington State. Things went so well that they quit their jobs and went full time with their fledgling business. They are a small family company and deliver many of their orders in person.

Most of the books are written by the owner, Ben Goode, and his two daughters.
